![]() I don't have an issue with that, just so long as it can be very well specified. ![]() Originally posted by Gedsaro:I don't get why people are arguing against an opt-in toggle, this is fine as a defualt, don't want new inexperienced players to flood things on a simple mistake sure, this is obviously an advanced option thing. Or as in my situation, I don't actually care about making the area safe, and not having to redesignate everytime they mine out a single tile would actually be safer, as then they could just keep diggin like normal, instead of being SLOWER, because they dig a tile, find wet stone, cancel it, go decide to do something else as there is no longer a nearby mining order, and either then have to come back, or have someone else do it when i click again to redesignate it. If I want to make the area safe, as things stand, I have to BOTH click twice, on EVERY wet tile that gets dug out, AND THEN still ALSO put in the work to make the area safe. ![]() "The work you need to do in order to make safe that area is much more time consuming than having to click-twice on tiles that are very dangerous." Just an ignore damp/hot stone warnings for THIS designation. Hell, it doesn't even have to be a fortress wide toggle, it just needs to be an ADVANCED mining designation, like the blueprints or priority, or auto-mining that we already have. I don't get why people are arguing against an opt-in toggle, this is fine as a defualt, don't want new inexperienced players to flood things on a simple mistake sure, this is obviously an advanced option thing. However, it may also be a lot of work that would have very little gameplay value for most folks. That being said, it wouldn't be terrible to be able to Zone out such an area. The more of those you leave up to automated tasks and commands, the less of those you will have. This is an "interaction moment." It annoys you, I know, but now you're being called upon to make in-game decisions. Well, while you're gleefully watching them chomp through the Light Aquifer on Z-Level 9, everything below Z-Level 12 is now flooding because you just commanded the Dorfs to ignore all the wet tiles, there, too. The work you need to do in order to make safe that area is much more time consuming than having to click-twice on tiles that are very dangerous.Īnd, let's say if there was such an option available in the Settings that said "Make Dorfs Ignore Common Sense?" (Not that they have any.) It's easy enough to just remove the "No-Smoking" sign from the Break Room in the Ammo Depot, too. I DON'T like that I can't assure the game (EASILY at least) that I WANT to dig and damn the consequence, because I want the veins of iron ore that I have so far only found inside a LIGHT aquifer.
